Great Smell, Awful Results! May 31, 2010 W. Ahlborn (Albuquerque, NM United States) This product smells wonderful when you put it on--very fresh and clean, though it does develop the 'tanning' scent an hour or two later, though it's very subtle. Unfortunately, the results are bad. Tons of streaks! Completely uneven! Some spots are super dark while others look like there was no tanner there at all (and we used a LOT of product to make sure this didn't happen). Overall, this self-tanner is a bummer. Not recommended.
Natural Looking Product May 26, 2010 D. Weaver (Richmond, VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used many self-tanning creams, and Neutrogena is by far the best. There is minimal-to-no odor and goes on naturally. I have used this product for about 3 years now. Was using Estee Lauder for years prior to this, and despite their claims of changing it so that it smells better, it still has a bad odor and does not look as natural as Neutrogena. And, of course, the price point for Neutrogena is much better!
Did not work for me December 23, 2009 Albert S. Peperato Jr. (PA, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It smells good, but you start to turn orange. and your hands too, even though I washed immediately. you have to fake bake, or get in the sun. God Bless, Al
Excellent product for the price September 17, 2009 T. Brosnahan It does what it says it does and leaves your skin soft and smelling good.
Hate the smell, love the result June 8, 2009 Ashley (Massachusetts) This is the first sunless tanner I've tried in 15 years, mainly because the ones I remember from the 80s and 90s were just dreadful. This one was very easy to put on (thin lotions like this one are the key to even spreading) and at first, I did not mind the so-called grapefruit/nectarine smell. I followed the directions and showered first, then let it dry about 10 minutes before getting dressed. After about an hour with this lotion on, however, the smell really got to me, so I waited an additional half hour, then washed it off. (The package says to leave it on for a minimum of one hour.) In spite of the relatively brief time I actually wore the lotion, I do have a nice even color, with no orange or streaking.
