Like it, but it's not the best May 11, 2010 Tink Bell (Honolulu, HI) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After hours and hours of researching, reading review after review, comparing colors, I finally gave in and bought the darkest one because I needed to get as dark as possible as soon as possible. 95% of the reviews are great and people swear by this stuff, so I was so excited and figured I'd found the tanner of my dreams. Weeell, it's good stuff, but not of dreams. Very first thing I noticed was the smell. During application it has a cherry cough syrup/almond smell which is nice compared to the burnt maple syrup smell most tanners have. But after the tan develops the maple smell appears just slightly. Still better than most tanners. My husband approves :P Next was the application. It was actually one of the hardest tanners I've ever put on, and I've put on a lot. I liked the fact that it has the color in it so you see where it's going, but the more I rubbed it in to get even coverage, it started to get almost like paste and the color wasn't blending in, it was just getting pushed around and eventually my arm looked like marble. The upside is that the streaks washed off in water the next day, the downside is I had a few splotches. Onto the color. This was the most disappointing part. All the reviews said deep natural color, but this was only half true for me. Deep color - yes. It came out rich and dark (and splotchy). Natural color - no. It wasn't orange, but it wasn't not orange. It came out brown/orange, which isn't any better than the other cheap tanner I use, and I'm sad about that because I was really hoping for a tanner that would finally make me look like I got my color from the sun. I was also disappointed when I took a picture with flash only to see my obviously bright orange fake tanned face :( But maybe it's my skin tone, curse this pink toned skin! Sooo compared to others it's decent stuff, but I'm not sure it's worth the price. It may be better for different skin tones, but for all those pinkies out there, I'd keep looking or try the medium. -I have to comment on the suppliers. I bought my tanner from Sunless Liquidators. They are new and it shows. I ordered from them because along with shipping costs they were almost $20 cheaper and the one review they had said they got their order a few days later. I wanted to pay extra for next day shipping because I needed it right away but they don't have it available. I took a chance since I usually get my orders earlier than the predicted date anyway. Well I wish I had paid the expensive Dermstore price because I ended up waiting over a week for my order, , AND I wasn't tan for the occasion I bought the tanner for in the first place. My anxiety would have been eased a little if they had a tracking system, but they didn't have that either so I ended up checking my mailbox everyday for over a week only to be mad and disappointed...and white. So unless I'm strapped for cash and in no hurry, I won't order from them again.
BAD! May 2, 2010 Kelsey A. Morrow (Idaho) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I feel like it is my duty to inform my fellow pale faces about this self tanner. I bought it, and I bought it wholesale from a different website so I have a 32 oz bottle of it, and I paid about $50. I was SURE this was the one. I had read hundreds of reviews, and I was so certain that this would end my quest for the perfect fake tan. I.was.wrong. So I am naturally extremely pale, and I don't tan easily in the sun, I pretty much just burn, peel, then go back to being white. And I freckle extremely easily. And get moles. I also have keratosis pilaris. So all those problems make for skin that turns orange easily, and that doesn't hold a fake tan well, and shows streaks. I tried out this self tanner on my leg, just a spot and I thought it looked good, so I took the plunge and I did my entire body. I put it all on before I went to bed, then when I woke up, I showered. I looked like an oompa loompa, no joke. It wasn't necessarily streaky, I think it was pretty even, but it was such a BAD color!! You should have seen my feet-granted, I proooobably shouldn't have put it on my feet...and my hands were just as bad. It was splotchy on my face though. I just can't work with this self tanner, it just doesn't work for me! And it does have a smell, it's not as bad as most self tanners, but I could smell it for quite a while. It faded in about a week. But it took a little longer than a week for ALL of it to go away. I would not recommend this tanner to anyone. I think the people that gave it such rave reviews must be tan already, or they must tan easily or have olive skin tones, I don't know, but it sucks!! DON'T BUY IT!!
Addicting June 24, 2009 J. Oliver (Salt Lake City, UT USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is so addicting, at first you might think that it's too much for self tanner but if you get the very dark you can make two bottles last the entire summer and fall. There is never any streaking. The dark color might scare you at first but it rubs and blends in gorgeously. It doesn't smell like a traditional self tanner, but it does have a slight "lotion-y" smell to it hence why the four stars instead of five. However it has red and gray undertones so you never EVER go orange. My friend and I are obsessed! She has pink undertones and I have olive. It looks fabulous on the both of us!
the best sunless tanner EVER!!!!! June 27, 2007 Sandra Kassler (Deer Park, New York USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used almost every sunless tanner there is out there and this one by far is the BEST EVER!! I have been without it for years since I have moved since I purchased it. Well leave it up to Amazone to have it!! I did a search and there it was...I AM A HAPPY CUSTOMER! AND I FOUND MY FAVORITE TANNER!!! Anyone out there that does not want the real sun to damamge there skin. Go out and get this product and if you are one of those people that love the real sun and need a boast of bronzer to add to your existing color go out and get this product!! No streaking, and a pleasant natural scent!!
Great Self Tanner January 27, 2006 LuLu 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really like this self tanner. I tried over 15 different ones. This one has a color indicator, so it is impossible to get an uneven tan. Also with the color there is an instant tan that only gets better as the hours go by. This is the mildest smelling self tanner that i have ever tried. NO ORANGE here. A beautiful natural tan. Also when this fades, there is no patchiness or weird looking skin. I get compliments ALL the time on how nicely tanned and healthy i look. I feel so much better about myself, my selfesteem is way up. I look and feel great!!! Best ever!
